Brooke Marie is now five months old and can already sit up by herself. Actually, she's been doing that for the last two weeks now. The first time she did it, she looked up at us like, "Hey, I've been able to do this all along, you just never put me down long enough." HA. Now, we are on to learning the concept of rolling over.
She's also gotten the new nickname: Brooker von Bon Bon. Justin says she's being trained by Magnus ver Magnusson for the Worlds Strongest (person) Man Competition because of her size. Let me tell you what, her legs are like power houses. So, next time you are flipping through the channels and see a little person on TV pulling a semi, don't rub your eyes thinking it's a dwarf. That's just Brooker von Bon Bon.
I'll have to get some more recent photos from last weekend and a video or two posted. By the way, she growls now, too. What a gal!

Happiness is a labrador retreiver.
We can't forget about Cody, too. He didn't want to let Brooke steal all the spotlight.
If anyone is ever interested in lab check out this place: http://www.moonshinelabs.com/. They should be having another litter soon. We got Cody from them. His parents are Jazz & Rio. While, Cody doesn't hunt (unless it's a ball), their labs come from excellent bloodlines with many titles in their pedigrees. We couldn't have asked for a better dog (best friend) to have for Brooke as she grows up. Happiness truly is a labrador retriever.

First UND Hockey Game
Brooke attended her first UND hockey game last night. UND beat Michigan Tech 4 - 2 (I think). She did so well, and was even on the jumbo-tron. We got a few calls from people watching the game from home and they said they saw her on TV. Even though it was way past her bedtime, she stayed awake all the way through to the last 8 minutes of the game. I have a feeling we have a budding Sioux hockey fan on our hands (sorry Justin, I just don't think she's going to be a gophers fan).
We also had our first family pictures yesterday. As soon as we get them back I'll post some. The photographer is Shawna Widdel, she owns Shawna Noel Photography. It was a great session, she came to our house. Brooke hammed it up lots for the camera.
Watch again for pictures soon!

Rice Cereal
We'll just let the video speak for itself. At his pace of eating, Brooke is going to eat us out of house and home.

4 months

Brooke in Alexandria (Arrowwood Resort). Look at those sweet leggings.

Brooke's first time swimming in the water park.
I probably shouldn't have titled this post "4 months" because she's not quite there (Wednesday, March 4 to be exact). But, we have her 4 month check up and shots today. I had to take her to the doctor on Friday because she's had a cold for 2 weeks and now has a terrible cough. When they weighed her she was a whopping 17 pounds 11 ounces. She's beautiful and healthy and that's all that matters to me.
She started eating rice cereal on Saturday night. She's messy, but actually pretty good at it. Last Sunday (February 22) she grabbed a toy for the first time and then she also grabbed the bottle and put it in her mouth. I can't believe it. Brooke is also sleeping through the night and I have to wake her up in the morning to get her going to day care. I can't figure out how people get their kids to bed by 7:30 or 8 p.m. Brooke is up until 9 or so.
Cody is doing good, too. He's so gentle around Brooke. Take this morning for example. I was getting Brooke in her bunny suit (basically a snowsuit) to go to daycare and he laid down right next to her and gave her a little smooch. Then, of course, she looked at him and grabbed his lip. But, he doesn't do anything. What a good boy. Justin and I keep warning him that pretty soon he's not going to like all of the attention from Brooke.
I'll have to make another post after Brooke's appointment today. Any bets on how long she is??? She's already taller than her cousin Austin (8 months).
